In this series, I am driven by a pursuit of the divine aesthetic, exploring and combining ideas in ever-evolving ways. The “Trampling over the Classics” Collection is a concept close to my heart, where I delve into abstract imagery that maintains a strong connection with classical painting using light, composition and historical references. Embracing a flexible approach, I liberate myself from preconceived plans, allowing artistic freedom to flow and nurture my creativity. In this, I am inspired by the Abstract Expressionist movement and also by Renaissance art. I draw upon their treatment of light and composition, finding harmony between these seemingly contrasting styles. Embracing growth, exploration, and evolution, I am unafraid to take risks, working on multiple paintings at a time to experience a sense of creative liberation and detachment from individual outcomes. This practice infuses my work with energy and spontaneity, leading to surprising and unexpected results that ignite my passion for art, and keep me striving for artistic innovation.
